History of the College
Deo Sundari Memorial College was established in 22 nd July 1965 in Jhajhaa, Jamui. The College was a constituent unit of T.M.B. University, Bhagalpur. Now, it is a constituent unit of Munger University from 18 th March, 2018. The College is situated in Jamui district of Bihar State in India. The college campus acquires 35 acres (approx.) of land in lush green surrounding ideal for learning and teaching. The College also has one research centre. The courses offered by the university are approved from University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and other regulatory bodies. The college has a Principal who is helped by college faculty, third grade employee, fourth grade employee, and other University members in a spacious large building. There are 12 departments in the college of Science & Arts. The primary goals of D.S.M. College are as follows:
- To make sure that higher education facilities are available to the economically and educationally disadvantaged sections of the Jalah block, consisting mainly of the ST and OBC.
- To facilitate the empowerment of women through higher education.
- To make extension and awareness programs part of the regular curriculum activities.
